Mobile, AL — USA Health University Hospital offers continuing care for stroke survivors, their caregivers and families through its Stroke Survivor & Caregiver Support Group on the third Monday of each month from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

These sessions provide a vital resource for stroke survivors and their caregivers to find answers, gain coping tools, alleviate stress, and receive education—all within a supportive, safe environment.

“Support groups can help survivors and their caregivers and families feel seen and understood in complex situations, which may be hard to find within their peer groups,” said Emily Dahlmann, USA Health Stroke Program Director.

Led by Ashleigh Mackey, a stroke survivor and a USA Health Stroke Program Coordinator, the support group offers a unique opportunity for participants to share their feelings and concerns while building meaningful relationships with others facing similar challenges. The group welcomes stroke survivors and caregivers regardless of where their stroke treatment was received.
