Austal USA’s transformative expansion in Mobile has earned the prestigious Business Facilities 2024 Deal of the Year Impact Award in the Defense Manufacturing category. This recognition highlights the project’s critical role in strengthening U.S. national security while driving significant economic growth and innovation along the Gulf Coast.
The Mobile Chamber reports $422.3 million in capital investment and 1,391 new jobs created in 2024, solidifying the Mobile area’s position as a hub for innovation, manufacturing and distribution. With 12 major projects, including five new developments and seven expansions, the Mobile area continues to drive economic growth across diverse industries.
