Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s office hosting Passport Acceptance Fair in Mobile
Mobile, Ala. — United States Sen. Tommy Tuberville and the U.S. Department of State are providing Mobilians with an opportunity to apply for or renew their U.S. Passport faster and easier.
On Wednesday, April 30, from 8:30 a.m. to noon, Tuberville’s office will host a Passport Acceptance Fair at the Mobile Convention Center in room 106AB along with personnel from the New Orleans Passport Center. The staff will be able to accept applications and payments for new passports and passport renewals, which will then be taken back to New Orleans for immediate processing.
Similar to events in other cities organized by Sen. Tuberville’s office, this will help Mobile residents expedite their passport applications by getting them into the federal system immediately without having to make a trip to New Orleans. On average, it can shorten the process by several days.
This event comes as Alabamians will soon be required to have a valid U.S. passport or Alabama STAR ID for domestic air travel. That rule goes into effect on May 7, 2025. Application and renewal forms for U.S. passports are available at: travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports
To make an appointment for the April 30 Passport Acceptance Fair, call Sen. Tuberville’s office at (205) 760-7307. Appointments are required to participate, and participants should bring a completed passport application, a 2×2 passport photo, proof of U.S. citizenship, a government-issued ID, and a valid form of payment. Checks, money orders, and credit cards are all that will be accepted.
