Attend the June 19 Gulf Chats Presentation at the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf
Join us Thursday, June 19th at noon for the next Gulf Chat at the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf, featuring Cartledge Blackwell, Director of the Mobile Carnival Museum. |
In this presentation, titled “Between Town and Country: Dialogues between Mobile and the Black Belt,” Cartledge Blackwell will explore the deep and longstanding connections between Mobile and Alabama’s Black Belt. Economically, socially, politically, and culturally, these two regions are part of a shared story one that continues to shape the identity of the Gulf South. |
You can expect to learn more about how the relationships between the Port City and the Black Belt have evolved across centuries and what they reveal about our region’s past, present, and future. Gulfchats are free and open to the public. Order your lunch ahead from Fresh Fruit Cafe located in the lobby of our museum. |
Our main entrance is closed in preparation of the new Amtrak route. You can download the detour map at nmmog.org/detour. |
