Milton, FL (October 13, 2026)— Feeding the Gulf Coast has distributed nearly 350,000 pounds of food and emergency supplies to support communities affected by Hurricane Isaias. Our teams are working alongside community partners across South Alabama and the Florida Panhandle to reach affected families and respond to emerging needs.
As power is restored, many households continue to face the effects of prolonged outages, damage to their homes, and unexpected expenses. With food costs already stretching household budgets, replacing a refrigerator or freezer full of groceries can add another financial burden. We are helping ease that burden by providing food and essential supplies throughout recovery.
Our teams continue coordinating with local and state emergency management agencies, community partners, Feeding Alabama, Feeding Florida, and the Feeding America network to identify needs and support emergency distributions.
“When a hurricane causes this level of damage, many of our neighbors are left facing immediate challenges, including access to food and clean water,” said Michael Ledger, president and CEO of Feeding the Gulf Coast. “Our priority is getting food, water and essential supplies to affected communities as quickly as possible. We are working closely with our partners to respond to immediate needs and will continue providing assistance as communities begin the long process of recovery.”
The need for food assistance often continues well beyond a hurricane’s immediate aftermath as families face lost income, unexpected expenses, and the challenges of rebuilding their lives. Community support is essential to sustaining our response. Donations to Feeding the Gulf Coast’s Hurricane Isaias Relief Fund help provide food, water, and essential supplies throughout recovery.
