Mobile, Ala. — The City of Mobile’s therapeutic youth marching band program will make its 2025 Carnival debut during the Bayport Parading Society’s parade at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31.

Created in 2013 to provide an inclusive and diverse music and dance program for children with intellectual and physical disabilities, the Magnolia Breeze Youth Ensemble is led by the Mobile Parks and Recreation Department (MPRD) under the leadership of band director LaDarrel Bell.

This unique program not only teaches participants instrumental music and dance, but also focuses on improving social, emotional, and leadership skills. The youth ensemble performs at community events and parades throughout the year, including several Mardi Gras parades this season.
