Mobile Public Library Names New Director
The Mobile County Public Library Board of Trustees is pleased to announce Jurée Hall has been appointed the new Director of the Mobile Public Library system.
Ms. Hall brings a wealth of leadership experience from her post at the Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore, Maryland, where she served as Chief of Neighborhood Libraries, managing services for one of Maryland’s largest and most diverse library systems. She will officially begin her duties on June 1, 2025.
In her previous role, Ms. Hall directed day-to-day operations and planning for the 22-branch Enoch Pratt Free Library system, overseeing budgets, capital projects, and staff. She has extensive experience advancing literacy and social impact programs for communities. Ms. Hall’s ability to foster community partnerships, while championing the role of public libraries in promoting lifelong learning, reflects strongly the mission and goals of our system.
Ms. Hall holds a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from Valdosta State University. Ms. Hall began her Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from the University of South Alabama and finished at Georgia State University.
Ms. Hall has over 17 years of public service experience as a government administrator and innovative library advocate. She has been recognized for her public service work, including technology and innovation awards for creating, launching, and managing the eCampus project for the Atlanta Fulton Public Library System. eCampus, a first-of-a-kind online learning platform, served 31 branch library locations and both school systems in the Metro Atlanta area.
Ms. Hall’s civic involvement includes a passion for education and literacy. Ms. Hall formerly served as Chair of the Special Education Advisory Panel for the Georgia Department of Education.
Ms. Hall is a member of the American Library Association, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and the National Coalition of 100 Black Women.
In her spare time, Ms. Hall enjoys spending time with her granddaughters and playing handbells, and traveling.
