Mobile Museum of Art Announces Free Admission Programs for Summer 2025
MOBILE, Ala. – Mobile Museum of Art (MMofA) is pleased to announce a series of free admission programs available to the community this summer. These initiatives reflect MMofA’s ongoing commitment to accessibility and community engagement.
“The months ahead will be filled with exciting exhibitions that teach important lessons about the creative process, while offering opportunities for our community to learn together and share an experience,” said Executive Director Jon Carfagno. “The MMofA team is committed to ensuring that our entire community has access to the breathtaking art on view.”

A year-round favorite, Free Thursdays allows Mobile County residents to visit the Museum at no cost every Thursday with proof of residence. This program, which began in 2015, is generously supported by the Mobile County Commission.
Museums for All
As of April 1, 2025, MMofA is a proud member of Museums for All, a national initiative of the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), administered by the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM). The program provides free general admission to individuals receiving SNAP benefits. Up to four people per visit may enter free of charge with presentation of a SNAP Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card.
Blue Star Museum
MMofA is once again participating in the Blue Star Museums program, which offers free admission to active-duty military personnel, veterans, and their families (up to four guests). This seasonal program runs from Armed Forces Day (May 17, 2025) through Labor Day (September 1, 2025).
Free Admission for Teachers and First Responders
In appreciation of their service, MMofA will offer free summer admission to teachers and first responders — including fire, police, EMS personnel, and nurses — from May 3 through August 30, 2025. A valid school or institutional ID is required for entry. Each eligible guest may also bring up to four accompanying visitors.
The Museum’s exhibitions and programs are supported by the City of Mobile, Mobile County, The Alabama State Council on the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Arts. For more details, visit MobileMuseumofArt.com.
