Huggy Bear da Poet, Mobile’s Poet Laureate, will recite a poem he has written for the Mobile Arts Council, and we look forward to performances by Mobile Opera and the Mobile Ballet.

As Mobile’s only arts award event to recognize impact and excellence across all arts sectors, the Artys celebrates its 21st year honoring individuals, businesses and organizations dedicated to improving the arts and the cultural scene in the Mobile area.

This year, the Artys will honor: Arts Educator, Daniela Pardo; Art Soldier, LeaAyn Shurley; Cultural Innovation, Muffinjaw Designs; Danielle Juzan Performing Artist, Patrick Jacobs; Emerging Artist, Carter Hale, Jr.; Eva Golson Excellence in Film, Alfred Ward; Literary Artist, Jodie Cain Smith; Musical Artist, Eric Erdman; Organization, Chickasaw Civic Theatre; Patrons, Joe and Donna Camp; Visual Artist, Brian Tan; and for Lifetime Achievement, Stan Hackney.

Marshall OHern – a multimedia artist whose whimsical, colorful creations span from woodcarving to vinyl to colored pencils and digital renderings – has designed this year’s Arty award, which is always an original piece of art from a local artist.

Please continue to send your submissions for The Final Curtain. This segment of the evening acknowledges and honors individuals who have recently passed (2025 to the present) and who made an impact through their contributions to the arts and our cultural community.
