Mobile Arts Council Announces: Three Satellite Galleries Open in Mobile
Mobile, AL – Mobile Arts Council (MAC) enthusiastically announces three open, ongoing satellite art exhibition sites. We are committed to making the work of more local artists accessible to everyone. Satellite galleries started for us with a call from Vets Recover, requesting art for their new Midtown center. They asked for art to reflect patriotism, service members, The Gulf, and the Mobile area – pieces to inspire and uplift veterans in recovery.
Mother and daughter fine art photographers, Jennifer and Hailey Clifton, curated an exhibit sharing their radiant work that captures Mobile landscapes and landmarks. In addition, artist Bob Halcombe is exhibiting stunning oil on velour works depicting familiar military aircraft. He donated three works for permanent installation in the residential area of their newly remodeled building. Although the pieces in the residential space cannot be seen by the public, The Vault at Vets satellite gallery is open for public visits at 1200 SpringHill Avenue.
We have also partnered with the Love and Adventures Studios at The Frenchman. Our satellite, Atelier Alley, provides a welcoming corridor gallery between their business spaces at 222 and 224 Dauphin Street. Katie Thompson is our inaugural artist. Her bold and colorful works span subjects from portraits and animals to large, lively abstracts.
This week, we completed our third satellite gallery in partnership with Innovation Portal at 358 St Louis Street. The Preview at the Portal is a rotating exhibition displaying a sample of works that will be part of later shows at the MAC Art Gallery in Room 1927 at 6 South Joachim Street in downtown Mobile. The first artists exhibiting in The Preview are Ben Kaiser and Vanessa Quintana, who selected a small portion of their October 2026 “Cottage Core” exhibition to enchant the public. All works on display are available for early purchase through the Mobile Arts Council with an understanding that the pieces will be available after their October show at the MAC Gallery closes.
Each satellite exhibit provides a unique opportunity to showcase local talent.
If you are a business or organization looking for ways to enrich your space, grow our creative community, support local artists, or start a satellite gallery, please contact Jessica Jones or Sydney Cramer @ mobilearts.org/contact/
All area artists are welcome as members of the Mobile Arts Council. That is the first step to participating in MAC exhibitions – mobilearts.org/membership/.
