Mobile, Ala. — To celebrate a decade highlighting the Gulf Coast’s rich history, vibrant ecosystem, and economic strength, the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf will host a Family Fun Day featuring local vendors, special events, interactive activities, and free admission!

On September 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mobilians and visitors are invited to explore the rich maritime history of the Gulf through interactive exhibits, hands-on activities, and educational programs at the Maritime Museum. It’s a perfect opportunity to see some of the unique and engaging exhibits on display and enjoy food and drinks from the Fresh Fruit Café and other great local vendors.

“If you’ve never experienced the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf, this is a wonderful opportunity to ‘Come and Sea’ why visitors love it and local families keep coming back,” Executive Director Karen Poth said. “Whether it’s driving a ship through a storm in the bay on our simulator, steering remote-controlled toy ships, or learning the fascinating history of the Pelican Girls, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Come help us celebrate 10 years of waterfront wonder!”

Some highlights of the Sept. 27 Family Fun Day will include:

• Hands-on activities and interactive maritime experiences for children and adults
• Vendors like Kona Ice, Traveling Tom’s Coffee Truck, and the Fresh Fruit Café
• Local organizations offering free promotional items and community resources
• Free educational boat tours hosted by members of the U.S. Coast Guard
