Lope at the Loop returns to downtown Mobile April 26
Annual 5K ‘fun run’ welcomes runners, cyclists, families and more
Mobile, Ala. — You’re invited to walk, run, or cycle your way through a 5K fun run in beautiful downtown Mobile during the third annual Lope at the Loop event on Saturday, April 26.
Hosted by the Mobile Parks and Recreation Department, this unique and FREE event invites Mobilians and visitors to race around the Henry Aaron Loop however they see fit. It’s the perfect opportunity to get out, get active, and enjoy the spring weather on one of Mobile’s most iconic thoroughfares. From 8 a.m. to noon, participants are welcome to walk, run, jog, stroll, or cycle along a 3.2-mile course.
What makes Lope at the Loop special is that it’s open to anyone — however they want to participate. Leashed dogs, strollers, parents with children, and wheelchair users are all welcome. The year, we’ve also added a duathlon for those who want to challenge themselves by cycling and running the course.
If you’re ready to join us on April 26, you can register for free at https://link.edgepilot.com/s/568bf6e4/xMcVJatp5ES9kSKN1pLilw?u=https://www.cityofmobile.org/parks-rec/. Participants are asked to meet in the parking lot of the Ice Box (755 Monroe Street) before the event.
Once again, Lope at the Loop will be coordinated with the 100 Alabama Miles Challenge, a statewide program designed to inspire Alabamians to kick-start an active, healthy lifestyle. The goal is simple: walk, ride, run, or jog 100 miles throughout 2025! You can log your miles at 100alabamamiles.org.
