Who/what inspires you:  I am inspired by people who are intentional with their lives.

What word would you use to describe yourself?  Helpful

Favorite food/restaurant:  Sushi/Chuck’s Fish

Do you believe in luck or destiny? I do not believe in luck or destiny. I believe in preparation, relentless effort and identifying opportunity.

What is one of your long-term professional goals?  To have Port City Industrial become an employee-owned company.

What is your favorite season of the year and why? Summer.  I love all things beach and water.

What slang or trend makes you feel old? “Sus” as in something being suspect or questionable. I feel ancient when I realize that we have reached a point where a two-syllable word must be shortened to one.

What is your passion? My family and my children.

The last book you read: Wellness, by Nathan Hill.

What were you doing in your 20s? Learning amazing lessons in customer service by waiting tables, having way too much fun, making many poor decisions, and seeing lots of live music.

Your greatest indulgence: A couple of times a month I work late at my office in midtown and on the way home I stop at Old Dutch for a single scoop of lemon cookie in a waffle cone. I then eat my cone in my car alone listening to an audiobook. Peak joy for a middle aged mom.

What talent would you most like to have? I have always wanted to be able to sew and make clothes for my children or make things for my home.

What are two of your favorite names? Vivian and Augusta. I liked them so much, I gave them to my girls.

Name your favorite writer(s); Rick Bragg, Eudora Welty, John Kennedy Toole.  Contemporary writers I enjoy include Taylor Jenkins Reid, Amy Tan, Walter Isaacson, Maggie Nelson. I could fill a page with authors I love.

What quality you most like in people? Vulnerability. I love people who are comfortable in being real and discussing both the easy subjects and can have deeper, more meaningful conversations and will risk showing emotion.

Who is your favorite hero of fiction? Atticus Finch

Best thing about your job: Helping people to identify and work toward achieving their personal goals and dreams.
