USA Health to host free disability resource fair on Tuesday, Sept. 30
MOBILE, Alabama (9/18/2025) – USA Health is offering education and support to families of children with special needs on Tuesday, Sept. 30 during a “Back to School”-themed Disability Resource Fair from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Strada Patient Care Center in the first-floor lobby.
This fair will provide local resources for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as information and training related to autism, including:
- Support groups for caregivers of loved ones with disabilities;
- Head Start and Early Head Start information;
- Special education services for children ages 3-21;
- Training resources and support for childcare providers serving young children with disabilities;
- Inpatient support and coordination of care for children with complex medical conditions; and
- Car seat safety with a SAFE Kids of Alabama booster seat giveaway while supplies last. Child and vehicle must be present.
Agencies participating include: Catholic Social Services Disability Ministries; Mobile Community Action Head Start; Mobile County Public Schools Special Education Programs; UCP Mobile’s Childcare Enhancement with a Purpose; Children’s & Women’s Hospital Bridge Program; SAFE Kids of South Alababam; and the University of South Alabama Regional Autism Network (USARAN).
The USA Health Department of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics and USARAN host these fairs regularly to educate families about resources available to support their needs.
