Release Party for We Did It First- an Anthology of Mobile’s Poets

Last Updated: April 10, 2025By Tags:

Mobile, AL – The Mobile Arts Council is proud to present an evening of literary celebration with the launch of “We Did It First,” an anthology showcasing the voices of over 50 talented writers from our community.

Join us on April 17th at 5:30 PM at the Mobile Arts Council Gallery @ Room 1927 as we honor the release of this landmark collection, curated by Mobile’s Inaugural Poet Laureate, Charlotte Pence.

This anthology is more than a book, it is a vibrant reflection of Mobile’s rich cultural tapestry. Through poetry and storytelling, these pages capture the essence of southern life, from the rustling of ancient oaks to the enduring power of family traditions, love, and loss. Even the cover itself, designed by local visual artist Patrick hurley, is a testament to the creative spirit of our region.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet contributing poets, hear live readings, and celebrate the literary arts in our community. This event is free and open to the public.

Don’t miss this unforgettable evening of words, connection, and artistic expression.
