Proplate Announces New Facility in Chunchula
MOBILE, Ala. – The Mobile Chamber is proud to announce a new economic development project in Chunchula, Alabama, with Proplate, a leading global provider of integrated production solutions in steel fabrication. Proplate will invest a million dollars in a new U.S. facility, bringing 30 new jobs to Mobile County within the first three years.
“We have been delivering components to USA from Sweden for many years. We are keen to secure our presence in this important market by establishing an integrated production facility in Alabama. This allows us to further improve our service to our existing customers and to expand our deliveries to new customers. We are all very excited about this new venture,” said Ian Hardy, member of the Proplate executive team and owner of the U.S. Project. “We are grateful for the assistance the Mobile Chamber has provided as we establish in the U.S.”
The Proplate facility will specialize in high-quality steel fabrication, including cutting, machining, grinding, painting, blasting and welding. This new site adds to Proplate’s global presence, complementing its existing production capabilities in Sweden and expanding its reach in North America.”Proplate’s investment in Chunchula is a win for our community. It not only brings new jobs but also represents a long-term commitment to the growth and prosperity of North Mobile County. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this project will have on our local economy,” said Mobile Chamber President and CEO Bradley Byrne.
Proplate will operate within the same location as G.A. West’s structural steel fabrication facility on Celeste Road in Chunchula. “G.A. West is pleased and excited to participate and assist Proplate in their forward-looking transition to a U.S. production facility. More great news for Alabama!” said G.A. West President and CEO Gary West.
