Relocation to Historic Dauphin Street Site Retains Talent, Adds 50+ New Tech Jobs

MOBILE, Ala. – Prism Systems, a global leader in automation and software solutions, has announced the relocation of its corporate headquarters and lab operations to 857 Dauphin Street in the heart of downtown Mobile. The move represents a $6.4 million capital investment and includes the addition of 52 new, high-wage positions and the retention of 44 existing jobs at their current Mobile location.

“Mobile has always been the foundation of our success,” said Keith Jones, CEO and owner of Prism Systems. “By deepening our roots here, we’re investing not only in the city’s future but also in the talent, technology, and creativity that define our company. The new downtown location offers increased visibility and allows us to lean into our high-tech legacy. After years of growing our company in other locations, this new flagship office will allow us to attract top talent to Mobile. Attracting the best and brightest engineers from elite colleges requires so much more than just interesting work. They care where they live, they want to work where they can walk to dining and entertainment, and they need to feel like they are in a tech environment surrounded by innovative people. We are excited to be a part of the downtown tech revolution!”

Founded in 1989, Prism Systems has grown to become a global software and automation company. Prism has implemented projects in more than 45 different countries. These projects range from supplying electricity to the people of Haiti, building safety and controls software for autonomous vehicles, implementing advanced robotics and helping build theme parks around the globe.

Under Keith Jones’ leadership, Prism has grown to include engineering offices in Los Angeles, Orlando, Beijing and Shanghai, as well as two manufacturing facilities in Washington County. Despite its global reach, the heart of Prism’s operations and culture remains firmly in Mobile. With this move, Prism Systems reaffirms its long-term commitment to Mobile, creating a vibrant hub for innovation and excellence in automation engineering.

“Prism Systems has long been one of our region’s quiet giants in the tech and automation world,” said Bradley Byrne, president and CEO of the Mobile Chamber. “Bringing their headquarters to the heart of downtown Mobile strengthens our innovation economy, supports high-skill, high-wage jobs and builds on our momentum as a tech-forward community.”

The new location at the former Crown Hall site adds another corporate headquarters to the growing roster of businesses investing in downtown Mobile.

“Prism is proving that all kinds of businesses can thrive in Mobile. While our area is gaining a strong reputation for advanced manufacturing, Prism represents a growing trend of tech-driven companies creating high-wage jobs in our community. This move is a win-win for the company, its employees and downtown Mobile, and we couldn’t be more excited about it,” said Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson.

“Prism Systems operates globally, and its choice to grow here speaks volumes about our local tech sector and workforce capacity. Mobile County Commission is proud to see this homegrown company expanding in downtown, creating or retaining nearly 100 high-paying jobs and, perhaps most importantly, keeping top-tier talent right here at home,” said Mobile County Commission President Merceria Ludgood.

Construction and buildout of the facility are set to begin in September with operations to be transitioned in April of 2026.
