Mobile Museum of Art marks new era with comprehensive rebrand, major exhibition announcement
MOBILE, Ala. – On January 7, 2026 at 10 am, Mobile Museum of Art (MMofA) will launch a comprehensive brand evolution featuring a reimagined logo, a cutting-edge website, and a curated line of brand-inspired goods in The Art Store.
Mobile Mayor Spiro Cheriogotis and other community stakeholders will join Museum leadership for the unveiling to celebrate this milestone and the Museum’s role in the city’s cultural and economic growth. The January 7 event will also offer a first look at a groundbreaking exhibition coming to the Museum in 2026.
“The Museum’s previous branding dates to 2012,” said MMofA Executive Director Jon Carfagno. “In the time that has elapsed since then, the Museum’s team has built upon many successes that have prepared us for this moment. The new look and the visitor experience enhancements that accompany it signal that we have attained a new level of innovation and impact.”
Reflecting a commitment to the community, the rebranding process was guided by the local experts at Hummingbird Ideas, who helped create a new visual identity that aligns with the Museum’s mission to “bring people together and inspire creativity through the power of art.” This project is generously funded by The Hearin-Chandler Foundation as part of a multi-year gift that has allowed MMofA to enhance the visitor experience at the Museum and beyond.
At the January 7 event, MMofA will share details about a blockbuster exhibition coming to the Museum this fall, featuring masterworks from five artists whose imagery and influence have shaped popular culture from the 1980s to the present. As the exclusive venue for this exhibition, MMofA will draw visitors from across the country.
The Museum’s exhibitions and programs are supported by the City of Mobile, Mobile County, the Alabama State Council on the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Arts. For more details, visit MobileMuseumofArt.com.
