MOBILE, Ala. – On June 15, 2026, Mobile Museum of Art (MMoA) received a grant from The Caring Foundation of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama to offer free general admission to all Alabama residents every Thursday from July 1, 2026, through August 31, 2026.

“Last year’s summer access program propelled us to record-breaking attendance,” MMoA Executive Director Jon Carfagno said. “With admissions that are outpacing our previous heights, we are so are excited that the upward trend is continuing. This generous gift from The Caring Foundation will allow our team to extend the reach of our very popular current exhibitions Louise Nevelson: Dawn to Dusk and Aminah Robinson: Journeys Home, A Visual Memoir, as well as our recently re-imagined For Childrengallery.”

For more than ten years, MMoA has offered free general admission on Thursdays for Mobile County residents only. With the help of The Caring Foundation of Blue Cross, the Free Thursday program will now offer residents of the state of Alabama waived general admissions fees to the Museum on Thursdays.

This announcement follows on the heels of other initiatives MMoA has offered this summer to expand its commitment to fostering greater community access.
