The Mobile Chamber congratulates Smash My Trash on being named a 2025 Small Business of the Year finalist.

Smash My Trash is shaking up the waste management industry by introducing an innovative mobile dumpster compaction service that helps businesses cut costs and reduce their environmental footprint.

Founded in Mobile, Smash My Trash partners with local companies to compact waste safely and efficiently, which allows dumpsters to hold more and reduces the frequency of costly hauls. Customers typically save at least 20 percent on waste hauling expenses. Fewer hauls also mean fewer trucks on the road, cleaner air and reduced carbon emissions. 

Since opening, the Mobile team has completed more than 20,000 “smashes,” eliminating more than 10,000 hauls. That is the equivalent of removing more than 2 million miles driven by a gasoline-powered vehicle from the road or avoiding the burning of more than 900,000 pounds of coal.

In late 2023, the company expanded into the Pensacola area, adding more than three dozen regular clients. They continue to grow in Mobile and Baldwin counties, where new customers are joining and existing clients are increasing their service needs as their businesses grow.

Chief Smashing Officer Albie Whitaker leads the company with a mission to help clients save money while benefiting the local environment. “By compacting waste and reducing hauls, we deliver savings while making a positive environmental impact,” Whitaker said.

Smash My Trash is involved in the community as an active member of the Mobile Chamber and Partners for Environmental Progress, frequently sponsoring events such as PEP’s Sporting Clays Tournament. The company has also participated in Rapahope’s Touch-A-Truck and school events across Mobile and Baldwin counties.

The 2025 Mobile Chamber Small Business of the Year applications are currently being accepted. Each monthly finalist will receive a $500 award and is in the running to be named the Small Business of the Year which comes with a $10,000 prize.
