Mobile Ballet’s “The Princess and the Frog” Returns with Local Talent, Enchanting Celebration
MOBILE, Ala. – Mobile Ballet proudly announces two spectacular events this March: “The Princess and the Frog” at the Saenger Theatre on March 29-30, and special fundraiser, “Tiana’s Enchanted Jamboree,” on March 23.
“The Princess and the Frog” Returns to Mobile Saenger Stage
Mobile Ballet is excited to present the return of its acclaimed production “The Princess and the Frog” at the historic Saenger Theatre for two performances on March 29 and 30. Following its sold-out premiere in 2021, this original adaptation returns to the Saenger stage with spectacular choreography, stunning visuals, and stellar guest artists performing with the Mobile Ballet Company.
Mobile native Kaylin Wilson, a former Mobile Ballet student and current company member at New Orleans Ballet Theatre, will dance the lead role of Tiana. Kris Nobles, faculty member at Mobile Ballet and former Complexions company dancer, will perform as Prince Naveen. Adding to the magic, Mobile’s own “Mistress of Soul” Symone French will provide live vocals during the performance.
Under the creative vision of Artistic Director Katia Garza, this uniquely made-for-Mobile adaptation follows the enchanting story of Tiana, an ambitious young waitress pursuing her dream of restaurant ownership, whose path unexpectedly intertwines with Prince Naveen after a mysterious spell transforms them both into frogs. Their journey to break the spell unfolds with adventures along Mobile Bay, weaving local charm into this beloved tale of transformation and perseverance.
