Local Event Named Official Regional Site for 2026 Veterans Day Commemoration

BILOXI – (August 4, 2026) — Keesler Federal Credit Union, as presenting sponsor of this year’s Gulf Coast Veterans Day Parade, announced today that the Veterans Day National Committee has designated this year’s parade and celebration as an official regional site for the 2026 Veterans Day Commemoration, a prestigious recognition for communities and organizations that honor the service and sacrifice of America’s veterans.

The selection places this year’s annual National Veterans Day observance in D’Iberville, MS among a distinguished group of events across the country formally recognized as part of the national Veterans Day commemoration effort coordinated through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

“Keesler Federal was founded by service members and remains deeply connected to our military roots,” said Ret-Col James Hollingsworth, President of the Gulf Coast Veterans Day Parade. “To be selected as an official regional site for the 2026 Veterans Day Commemoration is a tremendous honor and reflects the longstanding commitment of our local communities in recognizing the contributions and sacrifices of veterans, active-duty service members and military families.”

The 2026 observance carries special significance as Veterans Day coincides with the yearlong national celebration of the 250th anniversary of American independence. The Veterans Day National Committee has encouraged participating sites to incorporate Freedom 250 themes and messages into their events, highlighting the enduring connection between military service and the freedoms Americans have enjoyed since the nation’s founding.
