Hundreds of Members Share in $1 Million Debt Eraser

BILOXI, Miss. (Aug. 11, 2026) — Hundreds of Keesler Federal Credit Unionmembers are celebrating some unexpected financial relief this week after learning they were selected to receive the cash equivalent of up to six months of auto loan payments through the credit union’s $1 Million Live Your Way Auto Debt Eraser member giveback program.

While all 376 winners received the news by email, Keesler Federal Board Chairman Jim Hollingsworth personally called many of them Monday to share the good news.

“One of the greatest privileges of serving on Keesler Federal’s Board is seeing firsthand the impact we can make in our members’ lives,” said Hollingsworth. “Making those phone calls was incredibly rewarding because on the other end of the line were people who suddenly had one less financial burden to worry about.”

Keesler Federal’s Million Dollar Live Your Way Debt Eraser campaign features three separate $1 million debt erasers and is the largest member giveback program in the credit union’s history. This second phase targeted debt relief for members with auto loans. Winners were selected randomly from a pool of members with existing auto loans who entered the contest. Each winning member received the equivalent of six months of remaining auto loan payments up to a total of $3,000 per member. Earlier this year, the credit union distributed $1 million to help members reduce or eliminate credit card debt. The third and final $1 million member giveback will be announced later this fall.

Unlike many promotional campaigns, the second installment was shaped directly by member feedback. After completing the first Debt Eraser campaign, Keesler Federal asked members where they would most like to receive financial assistance. Auto loan payments emerged as the top choice, leading the credit union to dedicate the second $1 million to reducing members’ vehicle debt.

The Live Your Way Debt Eraser campaign isn’t over yet. Later this fall, Keesler Federal will announce the third and final $1 million member giveback, bringing the total value of the 2026 campaign to $3 million returned directly to members.

“Credit unions exist to serve their members, and that’s exactly what this campaign represents,” Hollingsworth said. “Returning $3 million directly to our members isn’t just a promotion. It’s an investment in the people and communities we serve. We’re already looking forward to announcing the final chapter of the Live Your Way Debt Eraser later this year.”
