Hundreds of Local High Schoolers Convene for Model United Nations
Mobile, AL – Davidson High School is hosting the 49th annual Davidson Invitational Model United Nations (DIMUN) on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 7–8, 2026, at the Mobile Convention Center in downtown Mobile. The conference brings together over 400 high school students from 11 area schools to engage in diplomacy, debate, and collaborative problem-solving through simulated United Nations committees.
DIMUN challenges students to research complex global issues, represent countries in debate, and negotiate solutions through formal committee sessions. The conference emphasizes leadership, critical thinking, and public speaking while providing a platform for students to engage in civic learning and international affairs.
Community leaders, including local politicians, business leaders, and educators, are invited to attend and observe the students’ work firsthand. Even brief visits to committee sessions offer a window into the preparation, skill, and creativity students bring to the event.
