Gulf States Engineering, Inc. Welcomes Two New Partners: Stephanie Groves, P.E., and Brent Substad, P.E.
Mobile, Ala. (January 28, 2026) — Gulf States Engineering, Inc. (GSE), a leader in engineering solutions for over 25 years, proudly announces the addition of two accomplished professionals, Stephanie Groves, P.E., and Brent Stubstad, P.E., as partners, effective January 1, 2026. This milestone signals GSE’s ongoing commitment to delivering excellence by drawing on unmatched expertise and leadership.
Stephanie Groves, P.E., has been an integral part of GSE for more than 12 years, serving as the Civil Engineering Department Manager and the Project Support Department Manager. With 30 years in the engineering industry, Groves’ depth of experience encompasses roles for clients including Aumovio Autonomous Mobility (formerly known as Continental Automotive), SSAB, and Aurubis. A University of Alabama alumna and LEED AP-certified professional, she has earned recognition as GSE’s permitting expert, lending invaluable insight into complex projects.

Brent Stubstad, P.E., joined GSE in 2020 and quickly became a key contributor. With 20 years of engineering experience, Stubstad applies his deep industry knowledge to deliver innovative, high-impact solutions on complex projects for clients such as Nucor, CMC, and SSAB. He now serves as GSE’s Director of Operations and a member of the Electrical Engineering team. Stubstad’s strategic direction and operational leadership have been vital in advancing GSE’s mission.
