Gulf Coast Industrial Celebrates Grand Reopening of Specialty Fireproofing & Coatings Facility in Augusta, GA
Augusta, GA — Gulf Coast Industrial, an ASRC Industrial company, proudly hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 16, 2025, to mark the grand reopening of its Specialty Fireproofing & Coatings Facility in Augusta, Georgia. The event welcomed a select group of business leaders, community stakeholders, and partners to tour the completely rebuilt facility and hear remarks from Gulf Coast Industrial and ASRC Industrial leadership.
Following a fire that destroyed the original structure last fall, Gulf Coast Industrial has spent the last six months rebuilding the state-of-the-art facility from the ground up. The newly completed 52,000-square-foot building now stands as one of the largest and most advanced industrial paint shops in the Southeast.
“This is more than a rebuild—it’s an investment in the future of our workforce, our clients, and the industries we serve,” said TW Jackson, Vice President of Industrial Services at ASRC Industrial. “We’re proud to reintroduce a facility that reflects the strength and resilience of our team and our long-term commitment to operational excellence.”
The upgraded facility features:
• Two 15-ton overhead cranes spanning 70 feet and running the 310-foot length of the facility
• 30-ton abrasive hoppers for high-volume project execution
• A new 30-person training center to support workforce development and hands-on safety instruction
• A four-acre secured yard for optimized logistics
• Certified capabilities for coating, fireproofing, and surface prep—including AMPP QP1, QP2, and QS1 certifications and NACE-certified inspectors
Serving a wide array of sectors—including power, pulp & paper, oil & gas, food & beverage, water & wastewater, industrial manufacturing, chemical, EV battery manufacturing, automotive, and government—the facility is equipped to handle projects of significant complexity and scale. Gulf Coast Industrial specializes in industrial painting and protective coatings for fabricated steel, piping, tanks, and intumescent fireproofing applications.
The event included remarks from representatives of FabArc Steel Supply, and ASRC Industrial President & CEO Steve Ennis, who recognized the employees who were instrumental in the successful rebuild.
The celebration concluded with a catered reception and guided tours of the new facility, offering guests a first-hand look at the shop’s enhanced capabilities and layout.
