Faces Shine in the Mobile Arts Council May Exhibits: Dan Domenzain presents “Faces of Mobile,” Kathleen Kirk Stoves introduces “Faces of America”
Mobile, AL – The Mobile Arts Council (MAC) enthusiastically announces portraits to connect with during May.
Internationally acclaimed Mobile-based photographer Dan Domenzain’s show features people who make up our local landscape although they might be unnoticed in the crowd. Dan’s work reflects a deep appreciation of what makes us human – our similarities, differences, and the ways we connect. He highlights moments of authenticity and presence.
Established Mobile artist, Kathleen Kirk Stoves, is inspired by Lynn Oldshue’s storytelling through Our Southern Souls. In a series of oil portraits, Kathleen captures the essence of individuals Lynn has interviewed. Her paintings reflect the depth, humanity, and shared experiences that bind us together. Profits from any paintings sold will go to the Love All Pantry in Mobile.
Both exhibits feature faces and stories of our community. It is an invitation to slow down, look closer, and honor being human.
The Faces of Mobile and Faces of America exhibits will hang in the MAC Gallery, Room 1927 at 6 South Joachim Street in Mobile, from May 5 through May 30, 2026. Gallery hours are 11:00 to 5:00 Tuesday through Friday and 11:00 to 2:00 on Saturday.
A public reception will be held during Artwalk from 6pm to 9pm on May 8, when Lynn Oldshue will also be in the gallery along with her book, Our Southern Souls.
