Executive Profile – Cathy De La Garza

Cathy De La Garza is the president of Uniti Fiber, a premier insurgent fiber provider dedicated to enabling mission-critical connectivity across the United States.

A native of Austin, Texas, De La Garza graduated with a bachelor’s degree in government from the University of Texas at Austin and holds a master’s degree in organizational management from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

Before her current position, De La Garza held several positions within Uniti, including chief development officer, where she was responsible for strategic growth initiatives, SVP order management, service delivery, and product, charged with customer experience and revenue enablement teams.

“One of the best things about my job is problem-solving and collaborating with team members to overcome obstacles and reach or exceed goals,” said De La Garza.

Before she began her career with Uniti Fiber, she was a United States Air Force F-15C Fighter Pilot. One of the first women to fly a fighter aircraft in the U.S. Air Force. 

Business Alabama named her one of the 25 Top Women in Technology for 2025.

She describes herself as “determined” and says her secret to success is “Moving forward, even in the face of failure.”

She gets daily inspiration from her children, seeing how they learn and become resourceful, kind and mature young men. She hopes to inspire young women in all walks of life by sharing her story of work/life balance.

De La Garza says her long-term professional goal is to “Leave every organization better than I found it.”
