Cunningham Bounds Attorney Lucy Tufts Named President of the Alabama Association for Justice
MOBILE, Ala. – June 22, 2026 – Cunningham Bounds is proud to announce that attorney Lucy Tufts has been elected President of the Alabama Association for Justice for the 2026–2027 term. Lucy was installed during ALAJ’s Annual Convention, where the organization also elected its full slate of officers and board members for the coming year.
ALAJ is a statewide organization of plaintiff attorneys dedicated to protecting the constitutional right to trial by jury and promoting equal access to justice through Alabama’s courts. As President, Lucy will lead the organization’s efforts to advance consumer protection, preserve accountability, and ensure that Alabamians have meaningful access to a fair civil justice system.

An Alabama native, President Tufts graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center in the top five percent of her class. Her practice focuses on business litigation, complex litigation, product liability, industrial accidents, and wrongful death. Lucy is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (“ABOTA”), a fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers (“IATL”), and is certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. She has been named as both a “Winning Litigator” and as part of the “Elite Women of the Plaintiffs’ Bar” by the National Law Journal. She is licensed to practice law in Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi.
