City of Mobile to participate in severe weather preparedness tax holiday
Mobile, Ala. — Starting Friday, Mobilians are encouraged to prepare for hurricane season with the help of the Alabama Severe Weather Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday.
From Friday, Feb. 20, to Sunday, Feb. 22, the state of Alabama, Mobile County, and the City of Mobile will be waiving sales taxes on critical items needed when storms strike. Throughout the weekend, shoppers can save on a variety of supplies, including batteries, weather radios, flashlights, coolers, and qualified generators.
It’s never too early to prepare for storms in a coastal city. The 2026 hurricane season begins on June 1, so make those critical preparations now and save.
