City of Mobile Expands Citizens Academy Program with C251 Go! Ambassadors

Mobile, Ala. — The City of Mobile is proud to introduce the inaugural members of the C251 Go! City of Mobile Ambassador Program. These 18 participants have all previously graduated from the C251 Citizens Academy, which was launched by the Community Affairs Department in 2021.
Through this expanded program, the C251 Go! Ambassadors will help promote city events, encourage civic engagement, build stronger communities, enhance communication, and foster volunteerism in their networks and across the City of Mobile. The program’s primary mission is to keep Mobilians informed about their local government, its priorities, and key initiatives. As part of their new volunteer role, these 18 ambassadors will serve as official liaisons between residents and their city government.
“It takes everyone working together to make Mobile a safer, more business- and family-friendly city, and the C251 Go! Program is a great way for civic-minded residents to get more involved in the community,” Mayor Sandy Stimpson said. “I applaud these 18 Mobilians for taking this next step, and I look forward to working with them in the future to highlight the incredible things happening across our city.”
The C251 Go! Program is open to graduates of the C251 Citizens Academy. Applications for new ambassadors will be accepted each December, with participants selected based on need. More information on the application process and the first class of C251 Go! Ambassadors is available at:
