Young Professionals of Mobile Launches the YP of MOB Board Readiness Program

Last Updated: February 20, 2025By

MOBILE, Ala. – The Young Professionals of Mobile (YP of MOB) is proud to introduce the 2025 cohort of its Board Readiness Program, an initiative designed to equip emerging leaders with the knowledge and experience necessary for nonprofit board service. This year, the selected participants have been paired with a diverse group of nonprofit organizations across Mobile, where they will serve in an ex-officio, non-voting capacity on their Boards of Directors.

YP of MOB is a private young professional organization composed of individuals aged 21 to 40 throughout the Mobile region. The organization fosters relationship-building, career development and civic engagement, and the Board Readiness Program aligns with this mission by providing hands-on leadership exposure to the nonprofit sector.

The 2025 cohort members will gain invaluable insight into governance, financial stewardship and strategic planning while actively contributing to the missions of their assigned nonprofits. Participants will observe and learn from executive directors and board members while also engaging in volunteer opportunities to further their impact.

“The future of our local organizations depends on dedicated, knowledgeable leaders,” said Abbey Huguley, director of YP of MOB. “By preparing young professionals for board service, we are ensuring that Mobile continues to thrive with strong and engaged leadership.”
