Spooky Season in Mobile: Halloween Events You Can’t Miss!

MOBILE, Ala. –Get ready to embrace the Halloween spirit in Mobile with a lineup of exciting and family-friendly events! Whether you’re looking for a creepy museum experience, a glass pumpkin festival, or a haunted evening of classical music, there’s something for everyone. Creepy Crawly Halloween at the Museum

• When: Saturday, October 19, 2024 (10:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
• Where: Archaeology Museum, University of South Alabama
• What to Expect: Featuring a show and tell at NOON by Dr. Jason Strickland with the USA Biology department about our own “creepy crawlies,” an all day pumpkin painting with the Center for Archaeological Studies, and a walk through the trick or treat trail. Admission is free and open to the public.

Candlelight: A Haunted Evening of Halloween Classics

• When: Thursday, October 24, 2024 (8:30 PM – 9:45 PM)
• Where: Crown Hall
• What to Expect: Candlelight concerts bring the magic of a live, multi-sensory musical experience to awe-inspiring locations like never seen before in Mobile. Get your tickets now to discover music inspired by Halloween at Crown Hall under the gentle glow of candlelight. Glass Pumpkin Patch Festival

• When: Friday, October 25, 2024 (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
• Where: Marx Library, University of South Alabama
• What to Expect: The University of South Alabama’s glass art program, the only one in the state of Alabama, is hosting its fifth annual Glass Pumpkin Patch Festival on Oct. 25 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Marx Library. This event raises funds for materials, maintenance, repairs, visiting artists’ lectures and one-on-one sessions with students.

Halloween at the Exploreum!

• When: Saturday, October 26, 2024 (10:00 AM – 2:00 PM)
• Where: Exploreum Science Center
• What to Expect: Journey back to medieval times through exciting demonstrations and hands-on STEM activities. From Dragon’s Breath to magical chemistry experiments, families will partake in many STEM adventures through interactive experiences all throughout the building. Our newest travelling exhibit The Amazing Castle will transport visitors back in time to a fanciful, medieval village, filled with opportunities for problem-solving, storytelling and imaginative play. We encourage everyone to come dressed in your most creative and magical Halloween costumes! Admission is FREE for Exploreum members and General Admission for non-members.

MOB-tober Fest

• When: Saturday, October 26, 2024 (1:00 PM – 5:00 PM)
• Where: Langan Park
• What to Expect: On Saturday, October 26 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., join City of Mobile Events for a Fall festival packed-full of activities for everyone at Langan Park. Dance to the beats of a live DJ, get your face painted, meet your favorite characters, and let the kids bounce to their hearts’ content in our inflatables. Plus, unleash your creativity and dress to impress in our all-ages costume contest! With categories like Most Creative, Best Scariest, Best Overall, Most Hilarious, Best Owner & Pet, Best Makeup, and Best Family/Group Costume; there’s a chance for everyone to win. The pet contest kicks off at 2:30 p.m., followed by the human contest. Winners will take home awards and enjoy a special photo moment. Remember, registration is FREE but required, and it closes on October 20th—so don’t delay! Of course, no Halloween celebration is complete without candy galore! Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee

• When: Saturday, October 26, 2024 (3:00 PM – 6:00 PM)
• Where: Bellingrath Gardens & Home
• What to Expect: Formerly know as Boo!, this event is packed with Halloween-themed fun for all ages. Enjoy trick-or-treating stations, costume contests, and a range of activities designed to bring out the Halloween spirit. Trick-or-treating will be held from 3 pm – 6 pm. At 6:30 pm there will be a showing of a fan favorite, Hocus Pocus!
