Three ways the MCPSS is providing students with career exploration opportunities this summer

MOBILE, Ala. – The Mobile County Public School System (MCPSS) is dedicated to preparing students for future careers through innovative programs and events. By offering initiatives like Career Connect Day and the Career Exploration Camp, MCPSS provides students with invaluable opportunities for hands-on experience and professional skill development.

Career Connect Day. More than 150 students connected to more than 60 businesses and organizations that will host them this summer for paid internships at Connect Day. This successful program sponsored by the MCPSS Career and Technical Education division has proven to prepare students for college and careers. Not only do students receive on-the-job training, but they also practice resume writing, interviewing and other skills.

Career Exploration Camp: The MCPSS Career Tech Department is hosting an Exploration Camp this summer for current sixth, seventh, and eighth grade MCPSS students. The dates are June 10-19. Attendees will take part in a range of hands-on activities designed to broaden their knowledge of a wide variety of career fields, including culinary, advertising design, construction, automotive repair, cosmetology, welding and more.
