Kimberly Coleman State Farm: December/January Small Business of the Month
Congratulations to the Mobile Chamber December/January Small Business of the Month: Kimberly Coleman State Farm!
In the two years she has been in business in Mobile, Kimberly Coleman has made a name for herself by being a tireless advocate for community involvement.
After working in the corporate world for years, a priority she had when opening her own office was to focus on giving back to the community. Whether that is through sponsoring local events or volunteering, she said, “I finally had a platform where I could control where I wanted to use my time and efforts.” Her office has taken part in volunteer events and regularly donates meals to Fostering Together.
When discussing the most rewarding part of her job, Coleman said, “We deal with a lot of people’s bad days. It’s super fulfilling and rewarding to be able to hand over a check for a rental car after they have been in an accident or for rent after they have lost their home. It’s really fulfilling to be able to give our customers peace of mind and to hopefully alleviate some stress on some of the worst days of their lives.”
Some of the insurance products offered include:
– Car insurance
– Home insurance
– Renters insurance
– Condo insurance
– Life insurance
– Health insurance
– Pet insurance
– Commercial business insurance
Kimberly Coleman prides herself and her team on being present and available for their clients. “When you have a question about a bill or have been in a car accident and need help, having your agent be local and involved in your community, schools and local chamber can make all the difference in the world. Being able to reach them directly on the phone is crucial.”
Some of the surrounding areas her office serves include: Mobile, West Mobile, Prichard, Eight Mile, Theodore, Tillmans Corner, Semmes, Grand Bay, Mount Vernon, Chunchula, Saraland, Chickasaw, Satsuma, Creola, Bayou La Batre, Axis, Citronelle, and everywhere in between. They are also licensed to do business in the State of Mississippi.
She has been a Mobile Chamber ambassador for two years and won Ambassador of the Month for all her efforts in making members feel welcome.
Coleman said, “Joining the Chamber was my number one priority when I moved down to Mobile. I think there is a lot of good networking with a lot of good individuals that will help you get connected with different parts of the community.”
From attending ribbon cuttings to checking in with Chamber members, she volunteers her time to help other members feel welcome into the Chamber family.
When talking about the impact being a Mobile Chamber member has had on her and the business, Coleman said, “Attending networking events and getting involved has been super crucial for me. You don’t necessarily walk into these events with the intention of getting everyone’s business, but rather you go in with the intention of getting to know people and where they are coming from. That is what I have found success in. If you get to know someone and you pay attention to their story and you truly care about their well-being and how you can help them then a lot of times that will come back to you two-fold.”
