Mobile, Ala. – Basketball fans are in for a treat as local legend Ken Winston takes the court with Team Winston to face off against the Gulf Coast Gladiators, led by player-coach Eric Thrash, in the highly anticipated charity game, Port City Battle of The Trenches. This exciting event promises to bring high-energy competition while supporting a great cause, highlighting the community’s passion for sports and giving back.

Ken Winston, a Prichard, Alabama native, is no stranger to the spotlight. A graduate of Mattie T. Blount High School, Winston was a standout athlete, earning the Alabama Mr. Basketball Award and being named Gatorade’s State Player of the Year in 2002. His collegiate career was equally stellar, leading the University of Alabama’s Crimson Tide as the SEC’s top scorer in 2005 and advancing to the NCAA tournament’s Elite Eight.

After college, Winston embarked on an illustrious international career, competing in premier leagues in Greece, Turkey, Italy, France, Mexico, and Uruguay. His global experience and deep understanding of the game make him a formidable presence both on and off the court.

The Gulf Coast Gladiators, under the leadership of Eric Thrash, bring their signature grit and determination to this charity event, promising fans an unforgettable basketball showdown.
