MOBILE, Ala. – The Mobile Chamber welcomed more than 120 college junior and seniors from 10 universities for its second annual Showcase Mobile, a three-day career exploration event held March 23-25. The event provided students with an immersive experience, introducing them to Mobile’s industries and connecting them with top local employers.

“Mobile is the perfect place for young professionals to launch their careers,” said Mobile Chamber President and CEO Bradley Byrne. “With a thriving job market across diverse industries, a rich local culture and the Gulf Coast right at our doorstep, there’s no better place to jump-start a career.”

Throughout the event, students had the opportunity to participate in exclusive industry tours on March 24, visiting companies such as Airbus, AM/NS Calvert, APM Terminals, Austal USA, Continental Aerospace Technologies, Evonik, Hargrove Engineers + Constructors, Mobile Airport Authority, South Alabama Logistics Park and SSAB. These visits allowed participants to gain firsthand insight into high-demand, high-wage career paths available in the region.

“Attracting qualified talent is the top challenge for local employers, and Showcase Mobile is one of the many ways the Mobile Chamber is highlighting the job opportunities available in our area,” said David Rodgers, the chamber’s vice president of economic development.

The event concluded with the Showcase Mobile Career Fair on March 25, where students networked with potential employers, including Daher Aerospace, Jedson Engineering, Thompson Engineering and Volkert, in addition to the companies featured in the industry tours. The career fair, held in the Jubilee Room of the Riverview Plaza Hotel, later opened to the public, welcoming students and recent graduates seeking employment opportunities.

The Mobile Chamber remains committed to fostering connections between young talent and local industries, ensuring a strong future for the region’s workforce and economic growth. Planning is already underway for next year’s Showcase Mobile, promising even greater opportunities for students and employers alike.
