DC Safety has been named the Mobile Chamber’s 2024 Manufacturer of the Year, a testament to the company’s exemplary dedication to operational excellence, workforce development and industry innovation.

Founded in Long Island, New York, in 1975, DC Safety relocated its manufacturing operations and headquarters to Theodore, Alabama, in 2022, becoming one of the first tenant of the South Alabama Logistics Park.

The Tier-1 supplier specializes in designing, developing, manufacturing and supplying safety kits and accessories for the automotive industry.

Under the leadership of CEO Peter Murphy, the company has undergone two major expansions and continues to thrive in “the growing heart of the automotive industry.”

“Since it began in 2022, DC Safety’s migration from New York has been an exercise in discovery and inspiration,” he said. Originally looking at north Alabama as a possible landing place, it was his wife who first saw potential in the Mobile area, and especially the newly announced South Alabama Logistics Park. Once they visited the area and connected with the Mobile Chamber’s economic development team, he said it wasn’t long before the company’s destination was a foregone conclusion.

With nearly 100 employees and a 112,000-square-foot facility, DC Safety exemplifies efficient, profitable growth and investment in the local community.
