Mobile Chamber Introduces Gulf Sterilization, A Boost to Mobile’s Life Science and Biotech Sector
MOBILE, Ala. (June 17, 2024) – The Mobile Chamber announced the establishment of Gulf Sterilization, a contract sterilization provider for medical device manufacturers.
Gulf Sterilization plans to develop a state-of-the-art medical device sterilization and decontamination facility at 4345 Halls Mill Road, Mobile, Ala. The facility will employ cutting-edge sterilization processes to address critical supply chain and capacity pressures faced by manufacturers.
The facility will utilize an effective and environmentally friendly sterilant, Chlorine Dioxide gas, to sterilize medical devices.
“Gulf Sterilization is providing a new opportunity for the life science industry to choose a highly effective sterilization process without compromising commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainability,” said Gulf Sterilization owner Michelle Scott.
This project represents a $702,000 capital investment and will create eight new jobs over the next three years. Gulf Sterilization will make improvements to a leased building and purchase equipment to provide these services as well as conduct research related to this advanced technology.
