MAWSS Outlines Next Steps for Potential Prichard Water Takeover

Last Updated: August 26, 2024By

The Mobile Chamber has been following the situation regarding the future of the Prichard Water Works and Sewer Board.

In a statement from the Mobile Area Water and Sewer System, they outline next steps:

“The Board of Water and Sewer (MAWSS) appreciates the recognition of its high water and sewer quality standards.

Over the upcoming months, MAWSS will gather additional information to understand Prichard Water & Sewer Utility’s operations and needs. This process will be lengthy, extensive, and thoroughly reviewed by the MAWSS Staff and Board.

Our current customer base is our top priority. Therefore, MAWSS customers will not be burdened or required to pay additional rates, if MAWSS is determined to be the viable option.”
