Figures Announces Transition Advisory Council

Last Updated: November 21, 2024By Tags:

Alabama District 2 Congressman-Elect Shomari Figures released his Transition Advisory Council. This bipartisan council will provide insight, recommendations, and advice to Figures as he prepares to represent the 13 counties of District 2 in Congress beginning in January.

“We are committed to hitting the ground running, and ensuring that we are working in an informed, bipartisan fashion to solve the challenges in our District,” said Figures. “This group of advisors brings decades of public service, experience, and knowledge of the most pressing issues in the communities of District 2. I thank each of them for agreeing to serve in this capacity, and look forward to their invaluable contributions to the future of District 2 and the State of Alabama.”

The bipartisan group of advisors collectively represent a variety of sectors. Each member of the council has direct ties to one or more counties in District 2, with each county being represented by at least one member. The council includes former members of Congress; local, county, and state level officials; and various leaders in the business, education, faith, and law enforcement communities.

Figures campaigned on the promise of working across the aisle to bring resources back to the District to help address issues such as healthcare, economic development, infrastructure investments, education, and gun violence.
