Continental Expands Factory Training Program for Aviation Technicians and Pilots

Oshkosh, Wisconsin, July 23, 2024 — Continental®, a subsidiary of Continental Aerospace Technologies Holding Limited (HKEX: 232.HK), is thrilled to announce the next phase in its factory training program for aviation technicians. As a part of the newly integrated Continental Aerospace Technologies Academy™, the program will continue to offer multiple levels of training for aviation professionals. The expansion of this program will include factory training at new geographical locations, ensuring accessibility and convenience for interested mechanics and pilots.

Factory Classroom South AfricaThe factory training courses are offered through the OEM at both Mobile, Alabama, USA, and Sankt Egidien, Germany, facilities with Continental’s highly trained and experienced engine experts. Continental’s weeklong training programs provide a comprehensive curriculum that begins with piston engine theory and progresses onto practical, hands-on instruction and isolation procedures. The courses are designed for both Avgas and Jet-A engines with two levels of training available for each engine type. These trainings are designed in accordance with FAA guidelines, and eligible participants can earn 40 hours towards their IA renewal upon completion.

In the next phase of the program, Continental® will bring knowledge and training to mechanics out in the field. “As the program continued to grow in popularity, engine shops expressed their interest in having their entire team attend but, this is not always feasible due to the shop’s heavy workload and customer commitments,” said Karen Hong, CEO & President of Continental®. “However, we recognized the critical role that skilled mechanics play in proper engine maintenance, and we believe that the additional understanding, experience, and exchange of best practices can enhance the owner’s flying experience.”

Factory Classroom MobileContinental® recently conducted its first international avgas field training session. CSA Aviation (Pty) Ltd- Cirrus South Africa hosted the two-week training, with students from across the region participating in the same training course typically taught at the factory in Mobile.
