For the 20th time, Mobile County’s flagship road and bridge program is up for voter approval on the Nov. 5, 2024, General Election ballot with 36 projects that will improve 77.1 miles of roadways and two bridges throughout Mobile County.

Today, Tenaska shared the results of an economic impact study conducted by the University of South Alabama Center for Business Analytics, Real Estate and Economic Development, which found that the carbon capture and storage (CCS) project will support an estimated 770 jobs and infuse $618.6 million into the regional economy during construction, as well as 18 jobs and $24.7 million annually into the economy once operational.
The current iteration of one of the Gulf Coast’s most iconic bands got its start in the late 1990s, but its roots connect to the 1880s. The Excelsior Band is believed to be the oldest continuous marching jazz band in the United States, and stands as a living monument to the healing power of music.
