We’re excited to announce our partnership with Target to make back-to-school shopping extra special for the young people in our programs! Thanks to Target, our Littles enjoyed an unforgettable shopping event to ensure they have all the supplies they need for a successful school year. Over the weekend, Target awarded 75 of our Littles a $100 gift card.

Together, the Littles and their mentors (or “Bigs” as we call them) spent the morning shopping for backpacks, pencils, notebooks, clothes and healthy snacks! ur shared goal is to equip youth with the resources they need for a successful school year, including access to positive mentors who can provide the support and encouragement they need to thrive.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Gulf Coast (BBBSCGC) is the largest one-to-one mentoring organization in south Alabama and Mississippi. Our mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. We believe that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and we have committed ourselves to serving children in Alabama for over 40 years.

Professional staff carefully match children with volunteer mentors in long-term, one-to-one mentoring relationships. In addition, Big Brothers Big Sisters provides child safety training and ongoing professional support to volunteers, children, and parents/guardians throughout the life of the match.
