DAPHNE, Ala. – 68 Ventures and the Cox Family Foundation will once again host the third annual Ballin’ on Belrose event in Olde Towne Daphne on Saturday, May 18, 2024. Registration opens at 7 a.m., and the race begins at 8 a.m. at Belrose Park on Belrose Avenue in Daphne. Ballin’ on Belrose will benefit the Baller Dream Foundation.

The Baller Dream Foundation team works to help local brave young warriors and their families impacted by cancer by offering events to help raise their spirits and celebrate their lives.

We are going even bigger this year by donating an additional $10,000 to a Baldwin-County based nonprofit. The nonprofit with the most completed laps up the hill will win the prize.

Ballin’ on Belrose is a walk/run event inspired by the 29029 Everesting Challenge but adapted for our local community. It involves a race up Belrose Avenue and culminates in a street party at the top of the hill with refreshments, music, a kids’ area and camaraderie. Thanks to the support of the City of Daphne, Belrose Avenue will be blocked off from 7:00 a.m. to Noon on the day of the event to allow participants to complete the challenge safely.

Mt. Everest is 29,029 feet tall, meaning its formidable peak is 5.5 miles above sea level. Using that elevation as our inspiration, we created a climbing challenge where racers will travel a linear walking distance of 29,029 ft up and down the hill on Belrose Avenue. Our “Everest Challenge,” while inspired by the brave climbers who ascend Mount Everest, is a community event appropriate for racers of all ages and fitness levels. Climb the hill just once or ascend it 11 times to complete the challenge – it’s all about showing up and having fun.

To accept the challenge and race to be the first to finish or join in the fun for just a few climbs, sign up for only $25 per racer at ballinonbelrose.com.
