The Mobile Chamber’s June 16, 2026, Primary Runoff Election Guide is a nonpartisan resource that includes important dates, voting information and sample ballots designed to help voters prepare for the upcoming primary runoff election.
- If you voted in a party’s primary, you can only vote in that same party’s runoff.
- If you did not vote in the primary at all, you are free to choose either party’s runoff.
- Didn’t vote in the May primary? → You can vote in the Republican runoff or the Democratic runoff.
- Voted in the Republican primary? → You may only vote in the Republican runoff.
- Voted in the Democratic primary? → You may only vote in the Democratic runoff.

What to Know Before the 2026 Primary Election
The Primary Runoff Election is scheduled for June 16, 2026. Voters will select party nominees for federal, statewide and local races.
The General Election is scheduled for November 3, 2026.
Important Election Dates
Primary Runoff Election — June 16, 2026
- June 9: Last day to apply for an absentee ballot by mail
- June 11: Last day to apply for an absentee ballot in person
- June 15: Last day to hand-deliver absentee ballot
- June 16: Absentee ballots returned by mail must be received by noon
General Election — November 3, 2026
- October 19: Voter registration deadline
- October 27: Last day to apply for an absentee ballot by mail
- October 29: Last day to apply for an absentee ballot in person
- November 2: Last day to hand-deliver an absentee ballot
- November 3: Absentee ballots returned by mail must be received by noon

Polling Hours: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day
Voters are encouraged to verify their voter registration status, polling location, and district prior to Election Day as locations or districts may change.
