April in Mobile is the “golden hour” of the Port City’s year for an ideal morning outdoors adventure.
Visit Mobile is pleased to announce the return of free walking tours, taking place every Saturday in April 2026. Locals and visitors are invited to explore the city and enjoy a guided tour covering Mobile culture, cuisine, history and more!
All tours will begin at 10 a.m. each Saturday, departing from the Visit Mobile Welcome Center (inside the History Museum of Mobile) in Downtown Mobile, unless otherwise noted. The tours are FREE and last approximately one hour. No reservations are required.
Tours of LoDa | April 4
Join us for an epic adventure in downtown Mobile! Your knowledgeable guide will share the many stories downtown Mobile has to offer: the history and architecture from yesterday, the shops and restaurants of today and upcoming changes for tomorrow.
The New Arena | April 11
Get a bird’s eye view of the progress being made on the new arena. Timelines, plans and more information on this monumental project will be shared.
The Pelican Girls | April 18
Step into the origin story of Mobile through the eyes of the Pelican Girls, the first group of cassette girls sent to the colony in 1704. These teenage girls crossed an ocean into an uncertain world and, through resilience and resolve, helped shape the future of a new city.
This guided tour visits historic Fort Condé, the new Pelican Girls historical marker and other sites central to their journey, exploring how their lives and choices laid the foundations of community, culture and continuity in early Mobile.
Mobile’s Waterfront | April 25
Walk the waterfront and learn about ongoing projects and future plans. This tour will be led by Jenn Greene, Director of Programs and Projects for the City’s Public Works Department.
This annual event series is organized by the Alabama Tourism Department to promote the state’s diverse history during one of the most beautiful seasons to be outdoors. Each tour is free to the public, and no reservations are required.
