MOBILE, Ala. — Gulf States Engineering, Inc.’s Partha Sarker, Ph.D., a member of the Electrical Engineering team, received a Doctor of Philosophy in Systems Engineering from the University of South Alabama in December. Originally from Bangladesh, Dr. Sarker has been with GSE for almost four years. His doctorate follows a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, all from the University of South Alabama.

In reflection, Dr. Sarker states, “The doctorate program has been my most daunting and ambitious endeavor thus far. As is often the case, successfully achieving such a goal requires the help and total support of friends and family. In this regard, GSE has been like a family, keeping me on track, encouraging me in moments of doubt, providing me the opportunity to complete the program, and supporting me in achieving this goal. I am immensely grateful to Dr. Tom Wade, P.E., F.P.E., the Electrical Engineering Department, and the entire GSE family. I strive to become a valuable and integral member of this awesome family.”

Gulf States Engineering, Inc. also announces the promotion of Timothy G. Morris, Jr., P.E., to Structural Department Manager. A Mobile native and graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Morris brings over six years of experience to his new role within the company.
