Second Annual GLAM Camp Returns to Bishop State Community College, Hosted by AM/NS Calvert
MOBILE, Ala. — Girls Learning About Manufacturing, Inc., a nonprofit affiliated with Manufacture Alabama, aimed at inspiring young women to pursue careers in manufacturing and STEM fields, hosted its second annual GLAM Camp at Bishop State Community College July 16-18th, 2024. Hosted by AM/NS Calvert, this year’s camp featured engaging STEM activities, career exploration opportunities, and exclusive tours of leading local manufacturing facilities.
This year, over 60 Mobile area girls participated in the camp, gained firsthand experience and insight into the exciting possibilities within the manufacturing industry. The camp included activities designed by the engineering team at AM/NS Calvert, instructors at Bishop State, and tours of Austal USA and Airbus Americas, providing participants with a unique look into the operations of these industry leaders. By providing hands-on experiences, GLAM Camp seeks to ignite a passion for manufacturing and STEM among young women, preparing them for successful futures in these dynamic fields.
