100+ Mobile Leaders Travel to Salt Lake City for Chamber’s Leaders Exchange Trip
This week, more than 100 Mobile business and community leaders, along with several City of Mobile and Mobile County elected officials traveled to Salt Lake City, Utah, as part of the Mobile Chamber’s 36th annual Leaders Exchange trip. For three days, the delegation met with elected officials in Salt Lake City; toured the Huntsman Cancer Institute; participated in sessions on a variety of topics such as sports entertainment, outdoor recreation, affordable and attainable housing, workforce development and talent attraction; and met with University of Utah professors and research facility executives.
Leaders from all over Salt Lake City joined us to share their thoughts on a variety of topics throughout our time in the area. We heard from the mayor, non-profits, universities, governments, chambers of commerce, and economic development corporations about how they are working to make Salt Lake City a better place to work and live. Interestingly, we heard speaker after speaker strongly emphasize that their successes were a direct result of strong regional collaboration.
Since 1987, the Mobile Chamber has hosted Leaders Exchange and traveled across the country, as well as to both Hamburg, Germany, and Toulouse, France, to participate in conversations covering timely topics in an effort to study best practices that could be implemented in Mobile.
